WIP- beach wrap and another pair of barefoot sandals

This week has been a long week, and its only Wednesday! I've been sick and its midterm week, so all I've done so far this week is get behind in school work :/ But I am determined today to get back to studying, make up tests and get back on track so I can quit feeling stressed out. That's why I am writing so early this morning! usually I don't post till later in the evening thinking I'll have time to work on something that I could add to the post, but today I'm all homework! Any who, I do have two pictures for you this week, though I wish I had more, so I can show how awesome my scarf/shawls/beach wraps are :] Maybe I'll post more pictures later in the week, or this weekend after I'm hopefully all caught up with school! for now, this is the only picture I have, just a progress shot, and of course there's another pair of barefoot sandals for the store! I can't wait to put the new products in! Only 17 days!

On another note, I'm considering opening a ravelry account to post some patterns. I've had questions on my Instagram a few times about how to make things, as I don't mind giving some information and helping everyone, as I've had a few questions and have been helped by others in the beginning. I just don't want to give the whole world my patterns and kill my store! So I'm thinking making things available on ravelry, or writting a short pattern ebook, might be the better way to go rather then posting my product instructions on Instagram.

hmmmm....I'll write more on that once I make a decision I suppose. In the meantime, have a wonderful Work-In-Progress Wednesday!

New things for chelseaMADE!

Today brought some exciting things to the blog, and the brand. Earlier this week I spend some time looking into html stuff for the blog. I remember being good at editing myspace layouts with html back in the day when those were the cool things :P But as far as blogger html, I'm lost. I have such horrible times with it even just trying to copy and paste other pre-made widgets into the blog.

This week I decided its time to start using "social media" to spread the word about chelseaMADE. So you can now find us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook ! Yay for us! My research into html let me figure out how to make these cute little buttons and link to my pages! You can now follow us in several different medias via the right side bar social media buttons! I'm pretty proud of myself ;]

keep in mind my twitter and facebook page are practically brand new. Well, the FB page really is, I just created it today. But I'm happy with these new exciting changes to the blog.

One more big change.....how did I not know I could send you directly to my store via a new blog page?!?!

Well, now I do, and you can now access our store easily through clicking on the last page tab at the top of the blog labeled Store.

Coffee Date Link Up

This week I wanted to try something new! Alissa from Rags to stitches does this fun weekly coffee date on Fridays. Since I've been trying to update more actively, I thought this would be a good way to introduce a new fun aspect to the blog! I don't know if I will start making this a weekly post, but I think I'll try it out for a few weeks and see how it fits :] What I like the most about it, is getting a chance to just spill my guts with you guys about stuff that doesn't necessarily revolve around the brand and the store, but my everyday life

This week Alissa's prompt to the coffee date is : "If we were having coffee, what would you tell me?"

So, if we were having coffee this week, I would tell you all, how happy I am to get back into working on the blog. I really do try to keep updated and on task and keep you all posted on everything involved with chelseaMADE, but as lame of an excuse it is, life just tends to get in the way. Its hard on a college schedule where my work load tends to change daily, as well as weekly, and trying to support myself, and work, and get the absolutely best grades I possibly can, to put aside a definite portion of the day to contribute to working on the blog. Lots of times when I do find free time, I'm more focused on trying to use it to create more products since my free time seems to dwindle more everyday. Summers are no different either when you count on spending 56 hours at a minimum at the shooting range working in the sun every week. I don't know how you ladies that are mommies do it and stay on task and keep your blogs going so smoothly! Props to you all! I'm just happy this last week or so I feel like I've been able to work on the blog a lot especially when it comes to learning more about this html stuff!

If we were having coffee this week, I would also say, I have not been anxious about this weekend coming, as it brings a hard week of studying for a bunch of midterms (more tests then the number of classes I'm taking....tell me how that works?!?!) and Vincenso being gone most of the weekend. Of course its nice every once in a while to take time dedicate it to working on stuff for the blog and store and not be tempted to quit and just lounge around with him since we don't have many down days, but nonetheless, I'd still rather have him here with me then at the regional wrestling tournament at Ashland.

If we were having coffee this week, I would probably rant to you about my frustration with my university. Its so discouraging to have worked so hard, and have our class denied the Bachelors of Science we helped bring to our school, and that we've been promised off and on from the beginning. I'm a good student. I work very hard, and I want to learn everything I can to better myself. I want the chance to fulfill  my dreams and go to Wayne State and graduate with a degree in Anatomical Pathology Assistant, and right now the school I've gone $40,000 in debt for is denying myself and my classmates the degree we need to get to the places we want to go. When you're told you'll have certain opportunities through a degree, that you later find out are unobtainable through a Bachelors of Criminal Justice in Forensic Science, its disheartening when you do everything you can and are denied the degree you helped fight to bring over to your university. I just want to have the opportunities I was told I'd have when getting this degree through Tiffin University. Hopefully soon the 2013 class of Forensic Science students and Tiffin University will come to an agreement and we'll be able to receive the Bachelors of Sciences in Forensic Science

Last, but not least, if we were having coffee this week, I'd tell you how nice it was to have some one to spill to, and to catch up. :]

WIP - start of spring line

Like I mentioned last week, I need to start creating the spring line for the store. I really like the idea of focusing on handbags right now. I feel like there aren't enough crochet bags online or in store that are focused towards the fashion oriented younger crowd. So I hope to show how cute crochet hand bags can be!Also I am LOVING this barefoot sandal trend!I wish I could list more than 50 items in my store as I want to make a million of these! Don't forget that any product suggestion are welcomed! (chelseamadeblog@gmail.com)

WIP- custom order and start to spring line of products!

Well, the first thing I made after breaking out of my "block" was a custom order scarf. It was a beautiful color, not at all sure what the brand or name was, awful I know! I really will try to remember to go back and check through my labels to try and remember which one it was. My mind is just currently blanking out. Anyways, it was adorable, and made so that you could wear it long and wrapped several time like a regular scarf, or button up the ends together to make it an infinity scarf! So cute! and was actually one of the things i had been wanted to try but just didn't have an excuse too!

Now I'm hitting the point where I really need to start getting some ideas around about new products for the spring. I'm definitely going to start carrying some cute and fun iPhone covers such as this flower beauty :] I also have a few other different items in mind, but if there's something you're hoping to see, let me know! comment on this
post, or email me. (chelseamadeblog@gmail.com)
