DIY Easter eggs & center piece

Today I wanted to do something different, and make a little DIY how-to
on the pretty Easter eggs my family made this morning and the
centerpiece I put together quick for my mum.

1. First- we hard boiled brown eggs

2. Next, we used a white craft pen to draw some funny and pretty designs.
We bought our craft pen from Walmart for about $2.

3.  We learned quick that it worked best when you only drew a small portion of your
design and then set it propped up in the carton while it dried. This way your designs
don't run like the one above^
4. Here's a picture of all our eggs decorated :]

5. Then I found some old fake flowers, a pretty wood bowl, and a scarf I could use
as a table runner and put them together to make mum a pretty Easter/spring centerpiece :]

Easter

Garza kids (missing- Holly, Ava, Alexa, and Josh)
When I was a kid, my favorite part of Easter was the Garza family party. I loved getting to hang out all day with my cousins, and eating all the good food, and beating up on my cousin Dillon. Every holiday with the Dad's side was a blast because there was a bunch of little kids there my age. On Easter though, there was one event  that we looked forward to every year- the Easter egg hunt. When I was little, hunting for Easter eggs was like playing gold rush. You stand there at the front, feet itching to run, and your heart racing till they yelled go and we could start tearing through the yard looking for those eggs. There were always the obvious ones, but there were always a few that were sneaky, and usually one, that was so high, you always needed an uncle to lift you up to get it. I don't mean to be rude, but I always kicked my cousin's butt at this. This was MY game, and I rocked at it. lol.

This year, the older cousins got to fill all the eggs and hide them for the Easter egg hunt. We were having so much fun, and I found the prettiest egg in the bunch, and hid it up on the windowsill of  the garage, so terribly excited to watch all the little ones go crazy hunting for their eggs. When the time came for the hunt, the little ones were the CALMEST I think I have ever seen them! There was no pushing and shoving over the eggs, no one got trampled or hurt. They happily kept to them self collecting their eggs and having fun. It definitely wasn't the all out war I remember it to be, but then again when we were little, we beat each other up and called it "fight-club" and thought it was fun. In the end it was the adults that  started throwing hard candy at each other and acting immature....guess we had to offset the proper behavior of the kids. lol.

One thing stayed true to tradition though, that pretty little egg on the windowsill was spotted by a little shrimp in need of a boost. That little shrimp was my oldest nephew Connor, and that sweet heart looked up at me and asked for help. In that moment life changed for me. I went from being the shrimp needing a boost, to being the Aunt ready to help in what felt like a matter of seconds. Some how going through college, and getting ready to graduate didn't make me feel special or needed or like an adult. Yet, the chance to help my nephew changed my world, and I can't explain that feel good moment I got to experience when I lifted him up and saw the excitement on his face. I've started to get excited about this next stage in my life lately, but nothing has solidified it like this before, I can't wait to have more moments like this, and to start experiencing things from this side...aka adulthood.

Coffee Date / Fridays Letter's

Yay! I can't believe it's Friday again! Okay, that was a lie, I can believe it's Friday again, I feel like I've been counting down the minutes since last Saturday as far as how long I'd have to wait to get a break again.UGH....

I wanna go to college the rest of my life, Sip Banker's Club Caramel Frappes and drink Miller Lite Coffee on Ice ..... I love hate college...ay! and I love drinking crocheting...ay! .....

lol sorry I suck. :]

Anywho, its time for Coffee Date and Friday's Letters :]

If we were having coffee today I would tell you, how lucky I am that my Genetics Class is a class of SEVEN. Yes, that's right, my college course of genetics has a total of six other kids in it, and if it weren't for our sense of "brotherhood" for surviving this course as the first class, aka the "test-run" kids, I would of failed my test today. Three chapters in any other subject wouldn't be that hard to study, but three chapters of genetics leaves me brain dead. I'm so lucky and happy a student that took it early stopped me and gave me some heads up on a few questions yesterday, or I would of failed. Instead, I feel pretty good, I probably got a B.

If we were having coffee today I would also tell you that skipping breakfast to study, but grabbing the left over caramel frappe from BK last night was a bad choice. UGH, my stomach feels like I just declared war on it. I need to get some food in there, like crackers, so it quits yelling at me.

If we were having coffee today I would also tell you that my experience here at TU has taken many obnoxious twists and turns, and I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, that things work out in the end, because I'm sick of getting tossed around here.

I would also tell you, that today has been crazy, and I actually started this post a little over 12 hours ago! And am just now getting a chance to get back at it!

**********

Dear Vincenso - I love you, and the fact that you will go to BK and Wendy's at late hours of the night to get me coffee and dinner. You're perfect <3 data-blogger-escaped-b=""> Dear Today you've been crazy, and its past my bedtime.... Dear BigLots - thank you for surprising me with some gorgeous yarn. I can't wait to figure out what to make with you Dear Tiffin Walmart - thank you for having your crew necks on sale for $1, Toledo's they were $3....I still bought another one.... Dear Boyfriend - you're cute, and I'm sad I don't get to cuddle up with you the next few nights.

I love sneaking pictures of him while he's cuddling up to me in he's sleep....I hope that's not creepy...lol,

I don't have any modeled photos yet, but Im hoping to get that taken care of this weekend :] Take a look, and start making your spring/summer "must-haves" lists! Keep in mind, chelseaMADE takes custom orders, so if you see an item you like, but would prefer a different color(s), just shoot us an email on the blog or from the store, and I'll get it taken care of for you :]

These three pretties are wrap belts :] wrap them around a couple times, or tie in a bow to style over your cute sundress or your favorite colored shorts and cardigan :]

These are some hippie/boho/hipster chic headbands :] Sooooo cute....I can't explain how much I love these :]

Last but definitely not least, these precious light weight and dainty knit necklaces! So stinky cute and perfect for every outfit this summer. Its light weight quality lets you get that gorgeous statement chunky look without the bulky weight ;]

Do you have any fun projects currently in the work? Doesn't have to be knit or crochet, could be a poem, or a painting, maybe an academic paper you're really stoked on ;] anything that you're working on lately, I would love to hear about it in the comments section! :]  I'm contemplating turning WIP WEDNESDAY into a linky party ;]

Liebster Award

I've done this once before, but Jazmine from Sassy Brunette opened it up to anyone that wanted to do it, and I feel like I've found a lot of fun, new blogs lately, and I want to give them the chance to do this too!

This one has different rules from the first one I did...

The rules are simple:

1. Link back to the person who nominated you.
2. Write 11 facts about yourself.
3. Answer the 11 questions from the person who nominated you.
4. Nominate 11 blogs with 200 or less flowers. Notify them. ( You cannot nominate the person who nominated you)
5. Create 11 questions for those bloggers you've nominated to answer.

11 Facts About Myself

1. I am 22 going on 23, and unlike most young twenty-year olds, I am actually really excited to be almost 23. lol.
2. I love iced coffee. I'd rather spend 5-6$ on a fancy iced coffee then save money and get the crappy warm stuff.
3. I'm graduating May 4, 2013 (which just so happens to be on my mums birthday :] ) with myBCJ degree.
4. I'm incredibly unathletic and uncordinated.
5. I hit my head at least once a week...Vince thinks I should get a helmet.
6. I will graduate May 2014 with a BSCJ, and hopefully a minor in biology.
7. I like eating raw cookie dough.
8. If it was up to me, Vince and I would pack up and move to someplace in Europe, and sleep in late, and sip on coffee   out on our beautiful balcony ;]
9. I have a problem over eating. I LOVE food. I will seriously eat until I feel sick, and then I'll lay around complaining to Vince when he tries to play around because I'm "SOOOO FULLL!"
10. I cant cook.
11. I love the run down town I live in during school. Its small, and uneventful, with nothing but a Walmart for entertainment, and its full of random Victorian homes to catch my eyes.

Questions from Jazmine

1. What is your dream vacation?
A summer in Europe, spent seeing the views, and eating the local food, spending the afternoons sipping coffee, and experience life ♥

2. If you we're stranded on an island what is the ONE thing you would bring with you?
Tampons. Sorry, its the truth.

3. Favorite movie?
Far too many to pick from :]

4. What are you afraid of the most?
Failure. If I never make it to Wayne State and to the job of my dreams, I don't know what I'll do.

5. Dream job?
If we're playing pretend, Broadway actress, or running my own boutique/coffee shop.
Realistically? Pathologist Assistant....(hint hint Wayne State....make my dreams come true ♥ )

6. When did you start your blog and why?
January 1, 2012 although I didn't start getting serious about it till recently.
My sister Holly encouraged me to, and it seemed like the perfect venue to try and get the message out about the brand I'm trying to create.

7. If you had to choose one celebrity to have dinner with, who would it be and why?
Ellen DeGeneres - shes an amazing and giving celebrity, and lets be honest, I'm a poor college student, she wouldn't let me go home without something to help me get into grad school or help pay for it.

8. Do you speak another language?,
I took a semester in American Sign Language in College, I love it, though I'm not fluent.

9. What are the top 5 things on your bucket list?

3. Own a Victorian home
4. Have a beautiful craft room (perferably the one with the tower :] )
5. Marry Vincenso

10. What is the one song that describes your life?

I could never pick one song...

The Show - Lenka - I stress out too much, I never quite know where I'm heading next, I need to slow down & "just enjoy the show"

Chinese - Lily Allen - I can't handle the distance between Vince and I during the summer. Or really during the day while I'm in class and he's teaching. It breaks my heart. I just want to spend all day with him.  I couldn't explain how perfect this would be if it were my everyday... " I don't want anything more, than to see your face when you open the door. You'll make me beans on  toast and a nice cup of tea (coffee), and we'll get Chinese and watch TV."

11. What is your favorite social media?

Coffee Date/ Friday's Letters :]

My celebratory frappe from earlier this week :]
this week's coffee date doesn't have a prompt so I'm going to use this chance to tell you all about my good news!

So, if we were having coffee this afternoon, since I have been in class all morning, I would tell you:

Although this didn't work out the way I had hoped, I will graduate this spring on time, and still be able to return next year (completely funded by loans....UGH). So even thought TU isn't accepting the fact that they wronged us by inticing us to enroll for a degree they don't have, I will at least give myself the opportunity to strive in the field I originally set out to ♥

I would also tell you that I have a huge research project that I have to do, that I'm actually already kind of behind on, but its on fingerprints and a correlation to ethnicity and I have finally found an agency that is willing to donate their facility for my research!

If we were having coffee I would also tell you that Vince and I are trying to eat healthier together, and our first week, we did---okay. Not, perfect, but definitely not as bad as we usually do. && I worked out twice this week! Which is two times more than I usually would, and I plan on going for a run this weekend. :]

**********

YAY! now time for Friday Letters!

Dear Week- Thank you for bringing good news to my hears when it comes to my future ♥  Dear Me- Keep your head up! Only 6 weeks left, keep pushing! That degree with honors is insight & if you just keep pushing, it'll be yours! Dear Vince- Good luck on your Praxis II test this weekend! I know you'll do great! Dear Psy. 101 Class-Thank you for teaching me today that my obsession with lists, my past experience with cosmetology*, and my visual learning, is normal for those with ADD. Dear Dirty Laundry Laying On My Bedroom Floor All Week- If Vince doesn't pick you up tonight, so help me, I will burn you.

Sincerely,
chelsea ♥

*Yes, according to my psy. prof. individuals with ADD tend to pursue cosmetology, due to their ability to visualize things easier than other academic subjects, they pursue visual careers such as...cosmetology...who knew?

WIP Wednesday- new designs for spring

This week's WIP's are a few new product designs I'm working on for the spring line. Hope you enjoy <3

This is a beautiful cream and lilac skinny bow headband. I fell in love with it immediately :]

These are a few iPhone4S covers I'm working on, haven't decided on the other two designs, and they still need buttons for their closures :]

These are an example of the new lightweight skinny scarf design I'm going to carry in the store this spring.

Here you can see their design a little better since they aren't folded up :] <3

These are my favorites right now! sadly the picture is currently upside down (maybe i should fix that...hmmm...), but when read from loop to knot, they spell words in morse code! I love it! The navy and blue says dream, the pink and black says love, green and brown says peace, and the cream and clay says life. I have sooooo many ideas for these, I'm gonna offer them in this chunkier yarn version, but I also want to offer them in a thinner version for wrap bracelets so I can fit longer words, names, and cute sayings on them.

So many ideas, so little time <3
le sigh, the problems of the small biz/college life...
